Bharat Ratna Puratchi Thalaivar Doctor MGR Arts and Science College was established on 24th July 2017. The college has started with Eight new UG Courses such as Tamil, English, History, Economics, Maths, Computer Science, BBA and Commerce. (G.O. No. (finance) No. 197,Hr. Education (GI) Dated : 24.07.2017 and ( G.O. No. (finance) No. 206, Hr. Education (GI) Dated 01.08.2017. Long term demand of Palacode area People is to have a Arts and Science College in Palacode. Itself it has fulfilled by the Honorable Higher Education Minister K.P. Anbalagan. Furthermore the role of the main personnel of the Palacode is due to this factor.
The college was named Bharat Ratna Puratchi Thalaivar Doctor MGR Arts and Science College by the Honorable Chief Minister of TamilNadu Edapady PazhzniSamy in the function of Dr. MGR Centenary function which held in Dharmapuri District in the memory of former Chief Minister Dr. MGR. Our Chief Minister has issued relevant GO for the Above. The management of Dharmapuri District Co-Operative Society of Sugar Mill and the formers of Palacode area have combined together and allotted 5 acre Land in the premises of Co-Operative Society itself. This honorable event are were appreciable e and respectable .

Hostel
Honorable Higher Education Minister K.P. Anbalagan had initiated Hostel for boys and Girls separately on 8.2.2018 and 13.1.2019 respectively BC and behalf of the welfare departments.Our hostel complex is a comfortable place to stay; supplies delicious food, with facilities for washing are available for boys and girls.
Scholarship
During the Academic year 2018-19, 410 First year students who belonged BC, MBC, and denotified communities had applied Scholarship. Their application have been uploaded in the relevant websites for getting Scholarship. 95 first Year students who belongs to for SC and ST had applied for scholarship
Free Bus Pass
The College issued free bus pass for 429 students in the academic year 2017 - 2018. Renewal for the above students were renewed academic year 2018 -2019.378 Boys 174 Girls who enrolled in the first year during the academic year 2018-19 were issued Free Bus Pass by the Government of TamilNadu.
